I wasn't expecting a candle to smell this much like those anise candies from my grandmother's purse, but here we are. The throw is strong enough that I smelled it from the hallway before I even lit it. The wax burns clean and even, no tunneling after several evenings.
The green and powdery notes hit first, then that soft anise finish sneaks up. Burn time is solid too, it lasted through several long evenings without tunneling. Smells exactly like the candy aisle I remember as a kid.
I wasn't expecting a candle to actually smell like the aniseed sweets my grandmother kept in her purse, but this one nails it. The powdery dry-down keeps it from being too sharp, and it fills my living room within about twenty minutes of lighting.
