Lighting this one on a cold afternoon filled the whole kitchen with that warm, spiced bakery smell — the star anise and clove come through beautifully without being sharp. It’s already become my go-to for cozy evenings.
I lit this in the kitchen and within ten minutes the whole room smelled like a warm holiday bakery, with the star anise coming through surprisingly bright against the cinnamon. The cloves give it just enough edge that it doesn't turn cloying, and the burn has been even so far.
The tin lid gives a satisfying clink when I close it after each use—the spiced warmth of star anise and cinnamon lingers in the room for hours. I’ve lit it three evenings in a row now, and it burns evenly without any soot. Exactly the cozy hug I needed for fall.
